Happy Wednesday lovelies! Are you ready for a yummy post that will having your running to your kitchen? First things first, can you believe that I took this picture and on manual mode no less? My teachers are so proud, big hug Justine and Mabel! Seriously lovelies my heart is swollen with joy right now, you know that feeling you get when you’re on your way to mastering a skill? Well that’s the kind of joy I’m rocking right now!
Today is the first day that I get to introduce you to my recipes series. This series is all about homespun recipes from my childhood, foods that remind me that simple can always be better and butter always has a safe place in my home and my belly. Today’s first recipe is such a classic, I mean who doesn’t love banana nut bread with a little twist, yes around here I call cinnamon a twist.
2 cups of flour (sifted)
1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup of butter
1/4 cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp. Baking Powder
1 1/2 cups of roughly chopped walnut (pecans if you fancy yourself the bold and daring type!)
Pre heat your oven to 350
The first thing you want to do is sift your flour and then add all of your dry ingredients, then slowly add your wet ingredients mixing only one egg at a time. Honestly there is no way you can mess this up, I promise! After you have everything mixed add your mixture into a loaf pan or several mini loaf pans (hello instant gift). Let bake for about 50 minutes or until the bread has begun to pull away from the edges, don’t forget to let your banana bread cool.
